Showreel

Client:

Year:

Happy horizon

2023

The brief was about creating a showreel to promote the 'development and technology' business pillar of a creative marketing company. The process was collaborative and involved several key phases.

Brainstorming and Script Development
The project began with a brainstorming session together with the marketing team. We shaped the large-scale script of the video and Rob then finalized it. The primary challenge was to convey all the necessary information within a limited timeframe of 1 minute and 10 seconds. The second challenge was in the fact that the use of a voice over was not possible, since the animation will be played repeatedly on a screen of 5 by 3 meters as part of a branded stand on an event. For that reason, the message should also be clear without sound.

Visual Concept and Storyboarding
Once the written script was approved, my task was to transform the narrative into a visual format. This involved creating a new sub-style that aligned with the existing brand identity of Happy Horizon. Doing this, I developed a detailed storyboard that mapped out the visual sequence of the showreel, ensuring each scene effectively represented the key points of the script.

Animation and Final Production
With the storyboard in place, I started animating the full story. Incorporating dynamic visuals, smooth transitions, and engaging elements that captured the guiding role of Happy Horizon in achieving the highest possible results, creating a 'clear horizon' for their customers.

This comprehensive approach ensured that the final showreel was both visually appealing and informative.

All rights belong to Happy Horizon, as this project was created by me on their behalf.
